I would say I have very strange taste in music. My music taste is highly varied and depends very much on my mood at the time.
I’ve been like this since I was a kid. From a very young age, my parents exposed me to many different types of music, from Tchaikovsky to Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was not uncommon to hear Jazz, Scottish bagpipe music and hard rock in our house, sometimes all in the same day.
I learned to enjoy classical from my mom, and Metal from Dad. These two have been pretty influential on my taste to this day, which is why I was overjoyed when I discovered Yngwie Malmsteen, who combines the best of both.

As I said, my music taste is often affected by my moods and sometimes I’ll go through a weird stage when I’ll listen to a certain type of music obsessively. There was a time in my youth where I listened to Jazz nonstop. I now rarely listen to it, which is honestly kind of sad. It seems I’ve almost lost my taste for it. Then there was the time I nearly became obsessed with Australian aboriginal music, which was… pretty weird, I’ll be honest.

The three genres that have stuck with me the most are Folk, Power Metal, and Classic Rock. These are the ones I listen to the most, with other genres filling in from time to time once I get bored and want something different. Some days I just need some Led Zeppelin to make everything alright. Other days, I’ll listen to banjo music from dawn until dusk, only to switch over to Dio the next day.

But what does it all mean?
Basically, it means I’m weird and cannot be put in a box. I defy categorization, and frankly, so do you. You don’t have to listen to one thing for the rest of your life. You can try new things, just to keep the rest of society guessing. You can be your own person, make up your own category. There’s no rule that says you can’t.
