Progress report and the Power of Physical Media
Physical books and where to find them, among other things.
Good morning. It is a good morning, I trust. Come back for more, eh? Well, here it is.
I’ve been making pretty decent progress on my novella THE FALL OF EMRYS this week. There’s been a bit of stalling on that one due to time constraints. I’ve been kinda busy with various other things going on in my life. It’s been hard to find time to write, but I’ve managed it, and my recent writing sessions, however brief, have been really productive.
By the way, if you haven’t read my most recent book, THE TOWER OF EMRYS, you really should. It’s a real banger of a tale! Possibly my best work. Click the image below to purchase now!
My Walter Ulric stories, meanwhile, are kinda dead in the water right now. I’ve just been having a hard time moving the plot forward. I started one and haven’t finished it due to lack of any concrete ideas. I then started another and had something of the same problem. I’m sure something good will occur to me.
Speaking of books, I took my sister to the used book sale at the library this week, and we had a pretty good time and found some great finds. With the cancel culture and censorship this days, we’ve been doing our best to get a hold of as many good books and movies as we can, just to make sure they don’t fade into dust. We’re putting together an archive of sorts, going to used book sales and scouring sites like Thriftbooks and Bookshop and buying culturally significant media.
In times like these, it’s important to buy physical media as much as you can, because you don’t know when the Powers that Be may decide that a book or film shouldn’t be out there in the public eye. That’s why I partner with Bookshop. Bookshop believes that local independent bookstores are part of a healthy local culture, and provides financial support to local bookstores all over the US; a mission I fully support.
