Stay Hydrated, My Friends
A fresh comic, a traumatic event and what I learned from it, and an exciting announcement!
Good morning, fellow humans. Welcome once again to my dance with insanity.
Do I have a new page of LEGEND OF THE SWORD BEARER? Why yes! Yes I do.
Certainty of death. Small chance of success. What are we waiting for? This whole scene is pretty important to the narrative.
Well this was some week, I gotta tell ya.
Everything started on Monday. Normal day, until about 7:30 when the abdominal pain started. We’re talking gut-wrenching pain. Worst pain I’ve ever had in my life. I’ll spare you the gory details and just say that certain things weren’t happening that should have been happening. The pain was so intense that I went to the emergency room - twice! They didn’t help me much, but I was still in agony, so I spoke to another local doctor, who referred me to the ER in the town 45 minutes away. They finally helped me. I’m okay, now, but that was an experience I’ll never forget!
Here are some things I learned from it:
STAY HYDRATED!!! This is crucial!
I am capable of standing for lengthy periods of time
I am capable of going without food for much lengthier time periods than I thought I could.
I need to work on my trust in the Almighty.
I guess all this is to say you are stronger than you think; that strength is tested in difficulty. Without difficulty, we will never know our strength.
Anyway, I’ve made some great progress in THE FALL OF EMRYS this week. It’s been a very productive week for that. The rewrites are coming along. Maybe not as quickly as I’d like; I’m only on chapter 5 of 10, which isn’t where I’d like to be, but it is what it is. Sometimes plans change and we just have to deal with it. At the latest, it’ll be out in August - just in time for my birthday!
I’ve also finished the first short story for my paid subscribers: THE TREATY. It’ll premier a week from today here on Substack, but it’s only available to my paid subscribers. To get access, hit that button below and change your subscription from free to paid. Get ALL the things for only $7/month, or $70/year!
Well, that’s all for this week. Thanks for reading, and have an excellent week!
