Good morning, fellow earthlings. Welcome once again to this slice of madness.
Today, I am closing chapter 4 of LEGEND OF THE SWORD BEARER.
Stay tuned for chapter 5 to see what will happen to Orla, how Bran will rescue her and much more!
Anyhow, good news! I finished the second draft of THE FALL OF EMRYS this past weekend! Now to find some beta-readers. I’ve been asking my normal crew and so far I’ve only had one volunteer. This is a bit discouraging, but someone will volunteer soon. They always do.
In the meantime, I’m taking a break from Camelot to focus more on the artwork end of things. I’m for hire, so if you need any sort of graphic artwork done, such as illustration, book covers, album covers, game art, or just a gift for a friend, head over to my website ianthomaswilson.com to see my full portfolio and pricing.
My Walter Ulric series needs more work, especially if I plan on publishing it on Amazon in October. I’ve made very little progress on my current story. I feel like I’ve lost the creepiness that I had in my earlier stories. Not sure how I’m going to get it back. I might have to read Lovecraft again, or perhaps someone else from that style and era. Maybe Clark Ashton Smith.
I have been reading some of Robert E. Howard’s horror stories, but I think he was better at writing heroic fiction with horror elements, rather than straight up horror. His Solomon Kane stories were really good; definitely an inspiration for Walter’s general characteristics.
If you haven’t read my Walter Ulric stories, I’ve uploaded audio versions of two of them to Spotify for your listening pleasure. More to come, of course, but you could do me the favor of subscribing on Spotify. Just hit the image below to listen.
